On Friday, March 31, 2023, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued Medicare Program; FY 2024 Hospice Wage Index and Payment Rate Update, Hospice Conditions of Participation Updates, Hospice Quality Reporting Program Requirements, and Hospice Certifying Physician Provider Enrollment Requirements, a proposed rule governing hospice payment and other policies for fiscal year (FY) 2024.

Comments on the proposed rule are due May 30, 2023.

Based on input the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) received from its various councils and committees and from providers directly, via the listening sessions held and/or responses to the survey distributed, NAHC has developed the points below for members to utilize in writing their own comments to the proposed rule. This is a great opportunity for CMS to hear directly from providers and we encourage members to share their thoughts on all or some of the provisions in the rule.
