  • 1.  Missed Volunteer Visits

    What do other agencies do when the care plan says Volunteer Visit 2 x / month and one of the visits is missed.  We had a volunteer who simply forgot the 2nd visit of the month.  Are we out of compliance?  Do we just document a missed visit?  Thanks

    This is just a missed visit for our organization as well. It is no different if the volunteer was ill or there was inclement weather. I would, however, educate the volunteer on the incident.

    Hi Joyce, 

    First, I try to reschedule the visit for another day so that we meet the plan of care. If I cannot work that out, I will do a missed visit and add the documentation.
