Nominations for the Hospice Special Focus Program Technical Expert Panel (TEP) are now open. The following announcement was provided to us today by Abt Associates. The deadline for nominations is August 12. Please note that the link below for the nomination form goes to a Spotlight page announcement with a deadline date of July 27. We confirmed with Abt Associates that the correct date is August 12 and the posting is in the process of being corrected.
Special Focus Program (SFP) TEP:
As you may be aware, provisions in the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) of 2021 direct the Secretary to create a Special Focus Program (SFP) for poor-performing hospice programs, to develop and implement a range of remedies and procedures for appealing determinations, and set out requirements for noncompliant hospice programs. In the CY 2022 HH PPS Final Rule, it was stated that additional collaboration would be sought to further develop the methodology for the SFP through a Technical Expert Panel (TEP).
We are writing to inform you that the nomination period for TEP membership is now open! The nomination form can be found at https://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Provider-Enrollment-and-Certification/SurveyCertificationGenInfo/Spotlight
We are recruiting a wide range of hospice stakeholders, including providers, patient advocates, national and state associations, other hospice staff members, hospice patients and caregivers for participation in the TEP to contribute feedback and thoughtful input during SFP development.
Please submit the nomination form and any general questions about the Hospice SFP TEP to HospiceSFP@abtassoc.com. All nomination forms must be received by August 12, 2022, to be considered for inclusion.
The Hospice SFP project is under CMS contract number 75FCMC18D0014 and task order number 75FCMC19F0001.
