I have seen a lot of discussion about HOPE submissions on this post and hope to get some feedback - We had always used to calculations when HIS was first put into place - 15 minutes for an admission and 5 minutes for a discharge -- this was likely underestimated by CMS but it was the only benchmark we had ( I would love a link to that reference again - Back then they put a bunch of hospice stuff in the home health rule as well and I have since lost that reference) - Now that HOPE is in place - I was using the same 5 minutes for each discharge but am struggling for a reference for the new HOPE admission , HUV 1 and HUV 2 .
We are struggling to keep up yet we need business justification for more resources
Do you use RN's only to do your HOPE QA review?
If not, what other resources do you use?
Does QA - do it all? the analysis, extraction, submission and compliance monitoring? If not how are you breaking it down
Have you established an FTE ratio for your admissions and discharges for HIS and if so what does that look like?
I look forward to the discussion .
