This morning the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) jointly with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a fourth extension of telemedicine flexibilities for the prescribing of controlled medications through December 31, 2026. These flexibilities were set to expire on December 31, 2025. With this extension, the telemedicine flexibilities that have been in place since March 2020 for prescribing controlled substances via the practice of telemedicine are available to prescribers for another year. The Alliance is pleased to see this extension, which underscores our continued engagement on this issue and reinforces our commitment to ensuring uninterrupted and appropriate access to care for beneficiaries receiving care in the home.
