Late last week CMS posted a video series titled "Getting Started with the Hospice Quality Reporting Program & Public Reporting"
This is a 9-session series that includes but is not limited to an HQRP overview, submission of data, some details about the HOPE and CAHPS participation and submission, quality measures. The sessions include short knowledge check quizzes and the full series takes approximately an hour to an hour and a half to complete. Alliance staff have viewed the full series and suggest that hospices consider utilizing it or portions of it for staff education and training. CMS states this resource will help hospices comply with program requirements, understand their role in public reporting, and track their own metrics to improve quality. The Alliance is planning education on the HOPE tool for members to occur this summer.
The posting notification for this video series on the CMS HQRP Announcements & Spotlights webpage has been backdated to April 28, 2025 but was not available until late in the day on May 14, 2025.The Alliance reached out to CMS regarding access issues for this new resource that some members are experiencing. Specifically, the link to the video is directing some people to an old intro to HQRP series that includes HIS and not HOPE and also shows an older content outline. CMS indicates this should be corrected by refreshing the browser and clearing cache. If you have problems with accessing the current video series after completing these two steps, please email PAC Training Mailbox.
