On June 26, 2024, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the calendar year 2025 Home Health Prospective Payment System Rate Update proposed rule. In addition to rate updates for home health agencies, the rule includes proposed revisions to the home health quality standards, the Home Health Quality Reporting Program (HHQRP), and a request for information (RFI) on measure concepts for the HHQRP and Home Health Value Based Purchasing (HHVBP) demonstration project.

CMS is also proposing two additional RFIs. One regarding the feasibility of rehabilitative therapists conducting the comprehensive assessment and another regarding the scope of HHA services and how these services interact with HHA operations.
Lastly, CMS proposes rate updates to the disposable negative pressure wound therapy (dNPWT) device and the home Intravenous immune globulin (IVIG) infusion benefit.
