Will Medicare pay for subsequent same day RN visits if they are both billable? I know Medicaid there is a modifier to use in these situations, but I am uncertain with Medicare. It has resulted in a LUPA payment.

My understanding is that if the ordering provider has ordered 2 x day visits, then Medicare will allow; keeping in mind both visits need to be skilled and that the ongoing need for care is intermittent (appropriate for home health vs a higher level of care).
