PEPPERs are coming! As providers know, the Program for Evaluating Payment Patterns Electronic Reports (PEPPER) that were annually provided for home health agencies and hospices were abruptly halted in January 2024. At the tail end of 2023, the PEPPER website was taken down and CMS eventually announced that it was stopping the distribution of the PEPPERs for all provider types that had been receiving them while the Agency worked on enhancing the quality and accessibility of the reports.
The PEPPER website is again operational and links to a PEPPER Distribution Schedule. This schedule is still under construction, so we do not have a specific date for when PEPPERs will again be distributed to hospices and home health agencies. CMS told the Alliance it would be Fall 2024. We will be checking the distribution schedule site regularly and will provide updates here in the Community.
