SUCCESS!
CMS informed the Alliance that it will retract the guidance on OASIS collection for patients receiving Part B outpatient therapy services (PT, OT, SLP) through a home health agency. CMS will be revising the relevant OASIS Q&A item to provide corrected instructions on collecting payer data for OASIS in relation to these outpatient therapies.
We are currently in the process of revising this item to reflect corrected guidance regarding the collection of payer data for the OASIS and associated "outpatient" therapies.
CMS has concluded that completion of the OASIS is not required for PT OT or SLP outpatient services provided by an HHA and billed under the Part B benefit - when a home health plan of care is not in effect.
