We were recently surveyed and received a citation for not having a medbox fill on the order, and our RN did fill the pill box. We are looking to create a standard statement for Med Box Fill as needed that we include in our nursing orders as a corrective action. I'm curious if anyone has developed a standard statement for their 485 that allows the RN to fill the pill box as needed?
What we've come up with so far is, "Fill pill organizer as needed when reliable individual is not available."
Any concern with a surveyor wanting to know how we define 'reliable'? Curious what others have done to address this.
