Hello,
We accepted a referral from a local hospital with milrinone infusion. The client has a Medicare Advantage plan with no out of network benefits (we are out of network), but we felt safe in accepting this client because the drug is milrinone. We expected that we would contract with the Infusion pharmacy for the PICC line care and infusion instruction, any labs, etc. The infusion pharmacy is now saying that it is not a HIT case and refusing to contract with us.
Did I misunderstand the benefit/regulation? Any insight is appreciated (even if you have to tell me I got this wrong).
Thank you,
Amy
