Oh, what a timely topic. Our state allows for concealed carry handguns, so we may not prohibit our employees from having a gun in their cars. We do prohibit them from carrying a gun into a patient home. They are allowed to carry pepper spray and we have even furnished it. We do not have a policy regarding patient/ family- owned guns being present (which I have observed as a HH OT in the past).
In regard to patient/ family- owned guns, we will discharge if a location is deemed unsafe for our employees.

Hi, we are a homecare agency located in NJ looking for guidance on a gun policy. Does anyone have one that they can share?
