We are a home health agency that is part of a large hospital organization. I need some guidance surrounding some recently encountered situations.
1-Is a referral from the ER considered an institutional referral?
2-Is a referral from our, or any hospital, where the patient was not admitted but rather in observation considered a community referral?
3-Is a referral from our outpatient/ambulatory surgery clinic, particularly out orthopedic surgery center, considered a community referral?
