My Alliance Online Community Rules & Etiquette and Privacy Guidelines
Thank you for being part of the National Alliance for Care at Home (the “Alliance” or "we") professional online community, My Alliance (the "Community"). This platform may be used only by Alliance members. To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established basic guidelines for participation. This is an excellent medium to solicit your peers' advice, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. By joining and using the Community, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines (collectively, the "Guidelines"). You also agree to reserve discussions, shared files, and content best suited to the medium. Questions should be directed to our Membership Team by emailing membership@AllianceForCareAtHome.org.
Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important Guidelines. To preserve an environment that encourages civil and fruitful dialogue, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate membership in the My Alliance Community for anyone who violates these Guidelines.
The Rules
Please be respectful of others and focus on the content of posts, not the contributor. Extend the benefit of the doubt to newer contributors-there are no wrong questions.
The Community is intended to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals. The following are prohibited and will be removed:
- Commercial messages promoting products or services
- Links to collect email addresses or other contact information in exchange for resources, webinars, or similar materials.
- Solicitations for completing surveys, participating in research initiatives, or promoting events or awards. (Please note: The Alliance is committed to sharing research and survey opportunities with its membership; members who are interested in sharing research or survey requests with Alliance membership should contact membership@AllianceForCareAtHome.org.
- Defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials.
- Messages that encourage or facilitate an agreement about the following: prices, discounts, or terms or conditions of sale; salaries or compensation; profits, profit margins, or cost data; market shares, sales territories, or markets; allocation of customers or territories; or selection, rejection, or termination of customers or suppliers.
Respect intellectual property rights. Post only content you have created or have permission to use, and ensure proper attribution to the creator.
When discussing products, use discretion. All information posted is available for all to see and is subject to applicable law.
The Alliance may record live sessions within the Community for internal quality assurance and planning purposes; except in specific circumstances, these recordings will not be distributed externally. For any violation of the rules listed above, the Alliance implements a three-strike process as outlined below:
- Strike 1: A written warning will be issued and the content will be moderated for either editing or removal.
- Strike 2: A written warning will be issued, the content will be removed, an in-person discussion with appropriate Alliance staff will occur, and the member will receive a 30-day suspension from the Community beginning on the date of the infraction.
- Strike 3: A written warning will be issued, the content will be removed, an in-person discussion with appropriate Alliance staff will occur, and the member's Community account will be permanently deactivated.
The Alliance reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to bypass the three-strike process and immediately suspend or terminate a member's access in cases of severe violations, including but not limited to illegal conduct or conduct that poses a risk of harm to other members.
When posting items in our collaborative environment, please indicate if the item is not available for reuse by other members. It is also advisable to contact the owner of any material before reusing it.
Post your message or documents only to the most appropriate community or communities. This helps ensure all messages receive the best response by reducing unnecessary notifications.
Discussion Group Etiquette
State the topic of your comments concisely and clearly in the subject line. This allows members to respond appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.
Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me too" to individuals, not to the entire list. Use the "Reply to Sender" feature available in every message.
Do not send administrative messages, such as "remove me from the list," to the group. Instead, change your settings or remove yourself from a community directly. If you change email addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the list and rejoin under your new email address. You can update your email address in your account settings.
